This is the first review of the new year and I must say this was the perfect tape to start it off. As soon as you press play you hear a declaration of authenticity regarding Hip-Hop culture and artistry. I can happily admit the tape only escalated “Up” from there (no pun intended). MC’s “Ynot” & “Pablo Neruda” compliment each others styles rather well. The soulful hip-hop production (JayB Beats) and tag team lyricism remind me of 90’s rap duo “Camp Lo” (Google “Uptown Saturday Night”). I thoroughly enjoyed this project because it was so refreshing. My only problem with this tape was even though the theme was dope, the tape failed to offer more definition on what was beneath the surface and why it was important to express. Without any other skits, the tracks didn’t follow any specific story line. I felt as if this was just a bunch of aimless conscious tracks. Over all, it was a decent project and I look forward to hearing more. I suggest Hip-Hop heads to give it a try.. #StashIt -@FlashFury1
